|Discovery Channel’s Swamp Brothers Bring the Swampland to the Big Apple at the 2012 Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show|
WHAT: The 107th Progressive Insurance New York Boat Show offers the chance to meet and greet brothers Robbie and Stephen Keszey of Discovery Channel’s hit series Swamp Brothers. The brothers make their living breeding and caring for hundreds of slithering, poisonous and sharp-toothed creatures, but their passion is being on call 24 hours a day to respond to animal emergencies across Florida. For two days, the Keszey brothers will take a break from nature and leave the swamplands of the Sunshine State behind and anchor in the Big Apple to chat with fans about their unique family business, experiences and their hit show.

Friday, January 6, 2012: 1pm–3pm, 4pm–6pm and 7pm–9pm
Saturday, January 7, 2012: 11am–1pm, 2pm–4pm and 5pm–7pm

WHO: Robbie Keszey’s love of music drove him to Los Angeles after high school to play bass in a rock band and serve as personal assistant to C.C. Deville of the glam rock group Poison. After traveling the world, Robbie found his way back to his first real love - wildlife and reptiles. He moved to Florida to work at Glades Herp Farm, bringing with him his rock 'n' roll attitude and a penchant for living on the edge. The exotic animal expert of the family, Robbie is skilled when it comes to his knowledge about crocodilians and venomous snakes. His number one goal is to teach people to respect and conserve animals through captive breeding.
Stephen Keszey,a New York City boy who left the bright lights of New York City after 14 years to help his older brother at Glades Herp Farm after their mother fell ill. A former bartender, Stephen prefers the chirping of urban crickets (car alarms) to actual crickets. Although he’s overly cautious and extremely fearful of getting hurt by pythons, crocodiles and rogue bobcats, he admits he’s learning the ropes and has gained some knowledge of these exotic animals. Still, he concedes that there is only one aspect in his life where he bows to the expertise of his brother without question: reptiles!
